Could it be I'm falling in love......with Me, Myself and I all over again? I've always been a camera hog but as I embark on this natural journey I've found myself taking more and more pictures on a daily basis and I can admit to being obsessed with my curls, kinks and naps..

Black women are known for being passionate about their hair but usually it's in the form of weave, wigs and perms. I'm happy to say I'm passionate about my natural God given texture.

Giving up the "creamy crack" has not only increased my already high confidence level but it's also brought out my creative side. I've found myself wearing the brightest of colors, matching the weirdest of prints and dressing in any era.70's are my favorite.

Animal print shirt and high waisted pants.

Overall,  I'm into my hair. I mean really into. So much so that I'm a product junkie. Not only do I purchase hair care products on a daily basis but I subscribe to curlBox and CurlKit and just recently also began making my own products.

I can't believe it took me XX amount of years to get it together. Now that I have, I'm embracing all the things that make me unique. Short legs, curly hair, stubby nose, dark skin me and just like McDonald's, I'm loving it!!!

Until next time.

Yesterday.......

Yesterday, all my troubles seem so far away now it looks as though there here to stay, oh I believe in yesterday and so the song goes. ......Anyway I am always struggling in the morning to find something to wear. ALL my closets in the house are full of clothes...my clothes to be exact. Mr. Lover man (my boyfriends new blog name...lol) has the closet in the guest room, although the shelves are full of my shoes.

You would think with all these duds I wouldn't have a problem right? Wrong. I can never find anything to wear. So lately I've been using style inspirations from online http://www.polyvore.com/ and various bloggers http://mimigoodwin.blogspot.com and http://blackandkillingit.com/  to get it together.

I think it's working. I received so many compliments on one of my outfits, I was blushing. (see below). It reminded me of my mother, she's ever the feminine dame. I also heard  Thelma Evans from Good Times lol. I'll take that. At any rate the entire look was thrifted.

I've been a thrifter since birth. It's in my blood. Mom is a veteran thrifter and takes advantage of the glorious senior discount to this day. Whenever I go home, we plan a whole day visiting our "Favorite store." which usually consists of  close to 6 hours shopping at the best thrift stores Denver has to offer, followed by a nice lunch to cap off the excursion. It's our thing and I absolutely love, love , love doing it with her whenever possible.

My obsession with thrift shopping has now gone viral. You can find some of my thrifty finds  on Instagram under @tia_trina.  http://instagram.com/p/QmlscWhdDC/

It's a great way to showcase my creativity and have fun doing something I love at the same time.

Hope you enjoy...

In my past life I was a wife, a stepmother and a religious fanatic. Although that part of my life is over I've learned a lot about who I am as a person. Being a wife taught me that I am commited and loyal, as a stepmother  I learned the pains of unrequitted love and in re-discovering God,  I learned the most important lesson of all;  I'm a strong woman with a heart of gold.

Playful me 2012

Growing up in a house full of siblings, I wondered where I fit in and learned to never offend anyone. I almost always did what was expected of me.

Now, as an adult, I do and say some of the darnest things. Some you'll shake your head at and others you can agree with.

I am often misunderstood and underestimated and that's okay because it allows me to show who I really am and what I'm made of.

.
I hope you find my blog interesting enough to leave a comment or at the very least crack a smile as I showcase some of my daily antics.

 Welcome to my world!
